Episode 10: America’s Forests in Minnesota
AMERICA’S FORESTS WITH CHUCK LEAVELL does winter in Minnesota! We snowmobile through the boreal forest. We meet the folks who are restoring the pines along Lake Superior to their former glory. We find out what’s being done by the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa to protect Minnesota’s mighty moose population. And we wrap it up with a rollicking version of Minnesota native Bob Dylan’s Like A Rolling Stone.
America’s Forests captures the breadth of our nation’s woodlands – both public and private. We feature different stories that demonstrate how #forest habitats are to the well-being and economic health of communities across the country. In this series, we present individuals who embody this passion for the woods, from architects to artists, from climbers to carpenters, and from #foresters to #treefarmers.
We celebrate US forests and to advocate for their constructive management, we propose a communications campaign centered on a broadcast television documentary series for PBS and multi-faceted social media outreach.
